Vision

Sunrise Church’s ministry is defined by the belief that each and every one of us is created in the image of God. Looking into one another’s eyes, we see the love of Christ reflected. We are dedicated to encouraging people from widely different backgrounds to recognize the ways that God is present in everyone’s life.

Values

  1. As a community of believers, we are united in living The Great Commandment: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
  1. As a community of believers, we are united in our commitment to put our faith into action. Hands-on ministry is an important part of our mission outreach.
  1. As a community of believers, we are united in worship. It is at the heart of our community life, where each worship service is rooted in the hopes, fears, cares, and concerns that confront all of us and is infused with the good news that God is continually present in life’s joys and troubles.

Flowing from these three values, learning and spiritual formation then becomes a holistic experience. We believe the faith is “taught” through the rich experience of community life.

Doctrine

Sunrise Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA). While there is great diversity of beliefs in our own church and across our denomination, our unity is built on the gospel of Jesus Christ and that right relationship with God comes “by grace alone though faith alone.” For more details on the history of the Presbyterian Church and specific beliefs, we encourage you to visit our denomination’s website.
